Professional and punctual service, but significantly overpriced The technician from Precision Garage Door Service arrived right on time as scheduled, which I really appreciated. They quickly diagnosed the issue with the bearings and end plates on my garage door torsion system and completed the work professionally. However, I was shocked by the final bill of $1,267.40 for replacing two main bearings (~$397 each), a flanged bearing, and two end bearing plates. These parts are available online or from suppliers for a fraction of the price, and the total felt like a very heavy markup. I understand businesses need to make a profit and value the convenience of same-day service + warranty, but this seemed excessive compared to what I’ve researched since. If you’re okay paying premium rates for convenience and don’t mind the cost, they do solid work. For anyone price-sensitive, I’d recommend getting multiple quotes from local independent shops first.

My call to precision was for a service check, as I normally do every 2 years. The only concern was my remote opener so I agreed to replace because of the age and the unit I have had for 20years. The service tech was a little pushy on explaining that which I already knew but I agreed to replace my opener. I felt the cost was a bit much but he had another charge on his paper for an additional service cost at 180.00 and 170. for a replacement button. I have sense found the same unit for 50.00 and also I have a hard time getting a copy of my bill. I have used precision for a lot of years but with this service I am done. Please mail me my bill as shown to me with 3 service charges on it.

They were really good at providing an estimate. However, after that I had questions. The salesman kept ignoring my questions and just wouldn't answer when I called.

Website stated same day service, at the scheduled time we were told the tech was not able to come so was rescheduled for next day, so NOT same day service. I googled the expected cost of the service and they charged me DOUBLE that.

The repair man was more interested in selling me a new $2200.00 garage door than fixing the garage door opener that I called about. My family has done a lot of business with Precision in the past. I'm thinking of different options on my next call.

Because I think Chris, and your labor prices are spot on, and he deserved every cent, and your labor billing is more than fair…..however, I think your charge for the belt is a bunch of crap, it is nearly double of the HIGHEST price I found, which was $20-$25 higher than the average prices I found. Based on that alone, there is no way I could recommend, your otherwise FANTASTIC service, to anybody I know with a straight face. That’s just me being honest, because that’s who I am.

The technician was pleasant and personable, but the company treated pricing like a used car salesman ("I can go back to my manager to get this reduced"), and was still 60% higher than another company.
